KB1218 Creating a Combo

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to guide you through how to setup a Combo. When individual items are punched in and the criteria for the Combo is met, the items will automatically combine to form 1 Combo Item.

Steps: 

Create the Master Menu Item

1. Manager Options 

2. Configuration Tab

3. Menu

4. Select "Items" Tab

5. Select "New"

6. Set the Menu Item with the Price Type of "Combo", give the Combo Price. 

7. This should activate the Combo Tab. Click "Combo"

8. Click New

9. here you can create the Combo Groups (The items that will be be involved in the Combo) 

i. Combo Name: Give a name to the Combo Group

ii. Quantity: Set the number of items that need to be selected from the combo group in order to qualify for the Combo

iii. Keep Price: Will keep the price of the item (See Results Section, Step 4)  

iv. Override Price Level: Assign a Price Level to the Combo Group. Each menu item that is added to this group must also have the Price level assigned to them. This Price Level will override the price of the item when involved in the Combo

v. Add Group: Add a menu group to be involved in this Combo Group

vi. Add Items: Add menu items to be involved in this Combo Group

vii. Remove: Remove selected item or group

EXAMPLE A:

i. Group Name: Drink

ii. Quantity: Only 1 item (Cheap Drink, Expensive Drink, Very Expensive Drink) can be chosen to qualify for the Combo 

iii. Override Price Level: Can choose a Price Level to override the price when combing that Group

iv. Add Item: Add more items to be involved in the combo

EXAMPLE B:

i. Combo Groups: We have 3 Groups involved in the Combo (Burger, Drink, Fries)

     a. One item from each group needs to be selected to qualify for the "Burger Combo Deal" combo

ii. New: Add more Combo Groups

iii. Modify: Edit an existing Combo Group

iv. Remove: Delete an existing Combo Group

RESULTS:

1. Based on the Combo criteria, we need to choose 1 Burger, 1 Fries and 1 Drink

2. As you can see we ordered 1 Burger, 1 Fries and as soon as we click any Drink it should combine to trigger to the "Master Item."

3. Outcome: Master item has been associated - "Burger Combo Deal" 

4. If we enable "Keep Price" on the Burger Combo, all burgers that are eligible to be part of the Combo will keep its price.
